5 Simple Tips to Increase Energy Levels
These 5 tips, working together, should help you when trying to salvage some energy to keep moving and progressing forward in your day. Many of us think that there are not enough hours in each day, so make the most of each and every one of them.
1 – Have “power naps”
Taking “power naps” basically means to sleep for around 20-30 minutes. In this short sleep it allows your brain to “digest” and process what has gone on previously. Set an alarm for the next 30 minutes so that you do wake up! It will leave you feeling a lot more awake and refreshed.
2 – Take a short walk
Ever get the feeling the walls seem to be closing in on you and you feel like you need to get out? Taking a walk can clear your mind very effectively. If you can get to a calm, quiet spot that’s great, but a walk around the block will do nicely.
You may be thinking I have so much work to do and so little time. Getting out the house for 10 minutes will in turn, be more beneficial as you can work up to twice as hard and will be a lot more focused on the job in hand afterwards.
3 – East breakfast and regularly
Skipping breakfast (or meal times in general) will slow you down physically and mentally. Try to consume some slow release carbs like whole grains, or oats to keep you going throughout the entire day.
4 – Drink more water
Drinking more water and staying hydrated is crucial to keep the brain operating smoothly and efficiently. It’s recommended you consume at least a litre of water every single day and the vast majority of people do not do this. Make sure that you keep a large bottle of water with you at all the times of the day that you can keep refilling and drinking!
5 – Have a Latte
Pair a quick caffeine hit with the sustaining power of protein by having a low-fat latte instead of just a cup of coffee. A latte is a fantastic way to keep you going towards the end of a day or get you up at the start of one. Use this for a little boost when you need to get yourself into gear.
